Rivers Marie mailer...
Just got my 2009 winter release notice - I'll be buying only a few, if any, so if you need something, let me know.
Re: Rivers Marie mailer...
I'm buying the whole kit and kaboodle. One of the few I'm still buying and I don't want to miss 2007 in Cali especially on Pinot.

Any list Whetrock is on, he will recommend you buy the whole list - a la RhysBill Tex Landreth wrote:WetRock...this is my first offer. Should I buy everything?

I'm picky. And BELIEVE me Frenchie I did you a favor in pushing you on the Alpine. I'll take them off your hands if you no likey. And beware because that next offer is this week I think. More Alpine, different selections. No brainers also.Todd F r e n c h wrote:Any list Whetrock is on, he will recommend you buy the whole list - a la RhysBill Tex Landreth wrote:WetRock...this is my first offer. Should I buy everything?
I would recommend buying the whole thing. Every bottling in the last offer even though they were 2006 doubled its value within months. So if you are worried you won't like them they are fairly easy to sell. Not a ton made and are well sought after among the wine geeks. All the talk on the Chard is sounding good. I'm always skeptical with Chards but it seems unanimous.

Re: Rivers Marie mailer...
I better have an allocation or I'm going to be super pissed.....and there's nothing I can do about it.
Re: Rivers Marie mailer...
OK then. They are fairly cheap and I was only offered 2 or three of each except the Willow Creek which is a single bottle.

Now that you mention it, I think Rhys comes out on Sunday.

Yep. Love how he keeps pricing in check where he can. One of the bottles is cheaper than last year to balance out the one that went up. And if you get an allocation you get a full case with every bottle. Even the Summa Old Vines which can be very rare in certain vintages. No starting with appellation bottles only. I'll support him here.Bill Tex Landreth wrote:OK then. They are fairly cheap and I was only offered 2 or three of each except the Willow Creek which is a single bottle.

I'm not so sure they double in value anymore - that was in prior economies...nobody's buying these in aftermarket that I know ofCris Whetstone wrote:I'm picky. Of course. I was telling you that for perspective since no one was clamoring for 06 Pinots. I just think that its a wine that you will still be able to sell in the coming future versus KB for instance.Todd F r e n c h wrote:I'm not so sure they double in value anymore - that was in prior economies...nobody's buying these in aftermarket that I know of

Damn, first couple of offers this year were easy decisions to pass. I actually thought I'd make it to March w/o getting tempted. Crap.Cris Whetstone wrote:I'm buying the whole kit and kaboodle. One of the few I'm still buying and I don't want to miss 2007 in Cali especially on Pinot.
Kit and kaboodle? Geez, don't you need a AARP card to say that?

I'm siding with WetRock on this one. Just because the market sucks, doesn't mean there aren't wines that will still sell for or above release price. I'm pretty sure with 200-ish case productions across the board and TRB newly anointed 'Bestest Winemaker Ever, not named Manfred', you'll get out of these no problem. Hell - give me a paycheck or two and I might buy them from you.

Okay, I'll buy my full allocation, then double the price and sell them on CC here in a few months - deal?

No but I've been on the list for a long time. I got Rhys allocation before RM.
Re: Rivers Marie mailer...
Weird. I made it pretty quick.....but I don't really remember when I signed on so that could be failing brain power. They are usually good with customer service issues also.Brandon Miller wrote:No but I've been on the list for a long time. I got Rhys allocation before RM.

Ya...I'm not really pissed but this one is the last of the bunch for me as far as wanting allocation so I thought I'd call and see what's up.
Re: Rivers Marie mailer...
I signed up less than a year ago.
