Heidi and I loved our trip to Carmel/Monterey - had some great food, but two in particular I'd like to recommend are Kurt's Carmel Chop house (had an UNREAL lamb chop there - wow) and Red House Cafe in Pacific Grove, which is not only the most adorable French country interior, it is family owned and operated, and the food (we had breakfast) is absolutely top notch. Great service as well - we struck up conversations with a couple of the staffers, and they were happy to chat.
