The best way to describe this would be to say this was a very well built wine. Top to bottom this was absolutely solid. Deep purple all the way to the rim, showing no signs of aging. Great nose of Black Cherries, other black fruits and maybe a little bit of licorice. Medium-full bodied wine with some dark chocolate on the finish. Tannins really gripping and great acidity to top it all off. Wonderful balance all around. Has quite a few more years left on it. The only real knock I can say is that when opened we were hoping for a bit more of a distinctive Tempranillo, whereas this wine was a lot more 'new world' than we thought it would be. 92.4758693 pts.

I perfected the formula that Samantha Sheehan used to rate the '97 VVF Champagne. Basically, I thought of a number in my head and wrote it down.
