Fantastic mature Napa cabernet - well integrated oak, rich mouthfeel, still-bright fruits, big round tannins, and a long finish. I'm sad this is my last bottle - this is the type of Napa cab that is right up my alley.
For once, it seemed that I brought the WOTN - right Whetstone?

Ristow
Yes Todd. Thanks for not bringing a $13 2nd label Rhone.
The Ristow was nice. In a very nice place with classic Cab features. Definitely up my alley.

2nd label Rhone is too high falootin' for me. I could perhaps do a 3rd label grey market Rhone, from Rhone, NJ...
Leslie hated the KB Keefer - I thought it was pretty great! She said it was all heat, but I didn't get that with that wine, and I don't think she's ever tried an '06 KB RRV or SC - aka isopropyl alcohol

The KB seemed pretty good. That and the Roar were similar to me. Both pretty big forward styled but nicely done.

Todd, I have one of each of the Ristows left. The 97 was by far my favorite. Can't wait to open the last one!

I thought the '99 was my favorite, as I didn't recall specifics of the '97, but most definitely it was the best of the three vintages. It's so spot on right now, why wait to open it?Zachary L A N G wrote:Todd, I have one of each of the Ristows left. The 97 was by far my favorite. Can't wait to open the last one!

Ristow definitely was doing something right in the mid to late nineties. Now, unfortunately, the label is no more. They are staring with a new venture up there and I am not sure if Pam Starr is involved or not.

I don't know what happened..the wines (to my palate) are very good and priced accordingly.
